Three-day semiconductor conference and exhibition to bring more than 500 exhibitors to Yashobhoomi

- PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate SEMICON India 2026 in New Delhi on September 17.
- The event is expected to feature more than 500 exhibitors and delegations from over 40 countries.
- Conference tracks will cover manufacturing, AI, supply chains, sustainability, design, startups and skills.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fifth edition of SEMICON India at Yashobhoomi, the India International Convention and Expo Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi, on September 17, 2026, according to an announcement by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and industry association SEMI.
The three-day conference and exhibition, scheduled for September 17-19, will be held under the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.” Organisers said the event will bring together government representatives, semiconductor and electronics companies, investors, researchers, startups, academics and students from India and overseas.
SEMICON India 2026 comes as the Centre expands its semiconductor development programme. Twelve projects have been approved under the first phase of the Semicon India programme, while the Union Cabinet has approved Semicon 2.0 to support the next stage of ecosystem development.
The government is also providing semiconductor design tools to more than 332 academic institutions and 105 startups, according to the organisers. A further 24 startups have received approval under the Design Linked Incentive scheme.
Conference to cover manufacturing, AI and supply chains
The conference programme will include sessions on semiconductor manufacturing and technology, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, supply chains, chemicals and materials, sustainability, product design, startups, talent development and government policy.
It will also feature six international country roundtables, a session on women’s leadership and empowerment, workforce-development discussions and a forum focused on collaboration among industry associations supporting India’s electronics system design and manufacturing sector.
Organisers expect more than 500 exhibitors, including 294 international companies, to participate across over 15,000 square metres of exhibition space. The event is also expected to host more than 150 speakers and delegations from over 40 countries.
The exhibition will include six country pavilions, 10 state government pavilions, a startup and innovation showcase, a startup pitch competition, a student hackathon and a workforce-development pavilion.
Global companies expected to participate
Companies expected to be represented include ASML, Applied Materials, Teradyne, Infineon, IBM Research, NXP, Tata Electronics, Micron, Lam Research, CG Power, Advantest and Tokyo Electron, among others.
Ajit Manocha, president and chief executive of SEMI, said India was well placed to develop as a semiconductor hub because of its “speed, ambition, talent and long-term vision.”
“India’s opportunity is not simply to join the global supply chain, but to become integral to it,” Manocha said.
Ashok Chandak, president of SEMI India and the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association, said the event’s theme reflected India’s efforts to create a comprehensive and globally competitive semiconductor value chain.
He said a new “Sand to Silicon to Systems” value-chain experience at this year’s exhibition would highlight India’s expanding capabilities across different parts of the semiconductor ecosystem.
SEMICON India is jointly organised by ISM, MeitY and SEMI. Visitor registration is open through the official SEMICON India portal.
