Sunrooof Launches Bangalore Experience Centre

Bangalore: Wellness-tech lighting brand Sunrooof has officially launched its Bangalore Showroom and Experience Centre, marking a significant expansion for the bootstrapped venture that aims to bring artificial sunlight into indoor spaces.
During an exclusive interaction with Kunal Guha, Editor-in-Chief of Global Business Line, founder Ishat Jain outlined the company’s vision, technology, and growing premium client base.
Launch of the Bangalore Experience Centre
The newly inaugurated Experience Centre in Bangalore has been designed as an immersive demonstration space. Architects, developers, interior designers, and homeowners can experience firsthand how Sunrooof’s artificial sunlight technology recreates the visual depth and warmth of natural daylight indoors.

The system uses concealed LED engineering to mimic sunlight, creating the illusion of an open skylight. Each lighting console operates between 20 to 50 watts, making it energy-efficient and suitable for both residential and commercial spaces.
Importantly, the technology does not use real sunlight but replicates its effect with precision — functioning even in enclosed areas such as basements and windowless corporate environments. If a property is equipped with solar infrastructure, the system can also operate on renewable energy support.
Premium Client Portfolio on Display
A prominent feature at the Bangalore Experience Centre is a curated client wall that reflects Sunrooof’s growing footprint across luxury residences and corporate environments.
The company has executed installations in high-net-worth homes, including that of actor Shilpa Shetty.
On the corporate and hospitality front, Sunrooof has worked with brands and institutions such as:

- Reliance Industries Limited
- Kohler
- Libas
- JW Marriott
- Johnson & Johnson
- Mokobara
- RattanIndia
- Good Earth
- MANAS
These collaborations span luxury homes, premium retail spaces, hospitality properties, and corporate offices — highlighting the brand’s positioning within the high-end design and wellness segment.
A Bootstrapped and Philosophy-Driven Venture
Sunrooof continues to operate as a bootstrapped venture, with no external venture capital funding disclosed. Growth has been driven by product differentiation and referrals within the luxury design ecosystem.
During the discussion, Ishat Jain shared that the idea behind Sunrooof was inspired by the concept of the five natural elements — earth, water, air, space, and fire. While air and water have been commercialized through purification systems, Ishat Jain believes the “fire” element — represented by sunlight — has been largely absent from modern indoor architecture.
With urban populations spending more than 90% of their time indoors, Sunrooof aims to reintroduce the experience of sunlight into built environments.
Education Through Homeschooling
Ishat Jain also spoke about his unconventional educational journey. Rather than following a traditional schooling system, Ishat Jain completed his education through homeschooling, under a curriculum designed by his father.
His learning approach focused on books, structured courses, and practical exposure, shaping an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age.
Coming from a family with over 25 years of experience in the stone kitchen business — a sector centered on hygiene and wellness-driven design — Sunrooof represents an evolution of that philosophy into lighting technology and spatial experience.
Strategic Focus on Bangalore
Bangalore’s rapidly expanding luxury real estate sector and technology-driven indoor work culture make it a strategic launchpad for Sunrooof. With increasing awareness around circadian rhythm, productivity, and mental well-being, artificial sunlight solutions are emerging as a differentiated offering in premium interior design.
With the launch of its Bangalore Showroom and Experience Centre, Sunrooof is positioning itself as a pioneer in India’s growing human-centric lighting category.

During the launch of the Sunrooof Bangalore Experience Centre, a renowned Swayam sitar player shared his impressions after visiting the space. Reflecting on his first encounter with the installation, he said that when he initially walked in while the setup was still underway, he did not even realize that the ceiling was artificial.

“I was completely blown away. I genuinely thought it was a real roof,” he remarked.
Even upon returning the next morning, the illusion remained strikingly convincing. He described the experience as natural and grounding, noting that people inherently crave a connection with nature. According to him, Sunroof’s concept beautifully bridges that gap by bringing a sense of the outdoors inside. Calling the innovation “brilliant,” he added that it was amazing to be part of the launch and witness a product that brings people a little closer to nature in such a seamless way.
